The input and feedback from our service users is really important to us. They can tell us the good and the bad of our services, what we need to focus on and how we can best meet their needs. Some of their feedback is included here.
“I always come out of WISHES feeling empowered – the staff, they really listen – I don’t have a mother or a daughter or any women in ma life that I can really trust but the staff – they really listen to me and makes me feel really comfortable, valued & respected. I always spend an hour just chatting, chatting about me about everything really, I always tell the other women in the sauna to go to the WISHES."
“You are all so lovely.  I enjoy popping in for a chat and a cuppa when I’m out working, it makes such a difference knowing you’re here and we can come for a break from outside especially when its really bitter out –  it feels like someone actually cares about us.”
“You always turn up. Even when I don’t.  Thank you for not judging me and listening to me when am struggling. Life is hard and its nice to have somebody there who you can just talk to… its really nice.”
“It’s such a fabulous service.  I’m so happy to have been introduced to the workers. I feel great because the workers are so resourceful and if they can find a way to help you they will.“
“Thanks for your call today and for everything, for all your support and help. I don't know what I would have done without you at times over the past year and a half.  You've kept me going on more than one occasion and I'll always be grateful.”
“You were there for me when I needed it, I really cant think where I would be if it wasn’t for you –  you really helped me. My life has changed drastically, I am completely off drugs, fully exited selling sex –  I was involved in that for 4 years & I really never thought I would be able to get away from that. You got me off the drugs – were there when things were hard I am pregnant now, stable and enjoying life. I’m ready for my case to be closed, and to continue with life. Thanks, thanks for everything.”
Quay Services
“I became in touch with Quay Services when I was contacted by internet. Quay services provide me with someone to talk to about issues that have arisen in Aberdeen. The condoms have been a great help to me as well. The service has helped me regarding issues with the police. It has helped me with support that I would not have had from anywhere else and feel that the informal meetings have helped me to ask about and understand issues within the Aberdeen area. In 6 months time I hope to have given up escorting and just be doing it part time around a job of the job is low – paid.”

“Worker offered support to meet all my needs, wasn't just interested in prostitution and that made me at ease and confident to speak about other stuff."

“I am thankful for the support, for being able to be heard and believed. I would not have been as strong if it was not for the support I have been getting. It's lovely I can be honest and say how I am feeling about things.”
TARA
“I want to say thank you to TARA for helping me through the dark days when I was in crisis and giving me the strength to carry on when I believed my life was not worth living. You were there to show me how I was a good person who had bad things done to me and it was not my fault. TARA believed in me.”

“The service helped in a number of ways, it didn't just focus on one particular area, it provided support for every issue, not just prostitution or recovery – it included everything.”

"You have made me happy when life for me is the most darkest I've suffered in 35 years of suffering Mental Health. Life would be no more for me death only option but you've struggled and had put up with treatment no family did.  Angels - life for me is now possible.”

Quay Services
“Its been a long road for me. When I first came here I was in a mess – I could not have been lower to be honest. Now I have my son, I see my daughter all the time and I am rebuilding the relationship with my family. I have my own house, my own car, and I go to the gym.  Most importantly, I am happy, confident and independent.”
TARA
“It is an organisation that boosts your morale, self confidence (well being) and spurs you to life despite the trauma that trafficked women go through.”

Routes Out
“I feel the Drop In was very helpful. If it wasn't there I would not have received an allocated worker from the day service who has helped me. I believe the help has saved my life.”

“Staff were patient with me, they didn't push me into anything and always listened. I had the same workers, got to know them and built up a rapport. Prior to this, I had never had any consistency in my life. Staff understood me and showed me different ways of dealing with things, rather than turning to drugs. I was given choices, encouraged to do well and to move on.”

“I wasn't sure what this Service could offer me and came across it by accident. I am so glad that I did. I didn't imagine that I could get so much support. This Service has changed my life and I now value myself.”
